Here are my comments on a post that the egyptologist Monica Hanna published on Facebook.

It’s mainly about our heritage, africentrism and our national identity. She made a few points but I think she always runs around a couple of ideas: Egyptians don’t contribute to their heritage and who cares about races, we’re all Africans but Africentrism is bad and one must care for the cause of diasporic Africans.
تناولت في مقالتها موضوع التراث المصري والمركزية الإفريقية والهوية القومية. أثارت عدة نقاط، بس كانت بتلف وبتدور على فكرتين أو تلاتة مهمين بالنسبة لها: المصريين لا يساهموا في كتابة وتفسير تراثهم؛ مسألة العرق مش مهمة، كلنا أفارقة لكن المركزية الإفريقية وحشة ولازم نهتم بقضية أفارقة الشتات.
